I am so glad you took the time to visit!
My name is Viola and I am the Missions Director for Alabaster Box Ministries. Currently, I am living in the Toronto area and taking the one-year TESOL (English as a Second Language) teaching program at York University. In March 2012, I finished schooling in Europe with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), where I completed a six-month Discipleship Training School (DTS). During this time, I had the opportunity to travel to nine different countries, ministering with a team in churches, orphanages, seniors’ residences, homes, and on the streets. Currently, I am working in the charity from Canada and am anticipating the return overseas to mission work in the near future.
A bit about myself: I am passionate about taking orphans off the streets, easing the burden of poverty in the lives of families, and bringing the powerful message of Christ to the nations. This is the place where you will hear about my mission journeys; what God is doing through Alabaster; and the things that He is placing on my heart. So I encourage you to subscribe to my feed and stay tuned.
In following the Great Commission of Jesus in which He instructed us to GO (Mt.28:18-20); I hope to inspire your heart with these courageous words spoken by a missionary named C.T. Studd who, along with six other men, became part of the Cambridge Seven that evangelized China in the late-19th century:
“Some wish to live within the sound of a chapel bell; I wish to run a rescue mission within a yard of hell.”
Whether we are reaching out to our own hurting communities or making waves for Christ on the fields of Africa, we need to be reminded that our battle is not only a physical one, but a spiritual one (Ephesians 6:12). It was Edmund Burke who once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
Rendering useless the kingdom of darkness….may this continuously be our heart’s cry!
Many Blessings in Christ,
